In addition to supporting salmon enhancement in Sooke (The Charters Creek Interpretive Centre and The Sooke Salmon Enhancement Society), the Sooke Saltwater Series of derbies supports the Sooke Food Bank with monetary funds raised through the individual derbies and the Series. Fishers are also encouraged to donate non-perishable items and if they donate all or part of their catch to the Food Bank, they are entered into draws for special prizes.
